I've speculated before that Hypixel is remaining silent on announcements and a beta because they are afraid of attention on Hytale being cannibalized by Minecraft's caves and cliffs update. Therefore, I predicted that we'd start getting major announcements late summer, after hype about the new minecraft update has died down.

However, now that the caves and cliffs update has been split into two, it makes me question what Hypixel's plan is. If they were going to be gearing up to do a beta maybe late 2021, release early spring 2022, as I've predicted, then the second half of caves and cliffs may get in their way.

What do you think? Will they challenge Minecraft for attention in the holiday season? Or will they give the game longer time in the oven?
