A healing potion can be used quickly increase the players health. Healing potions are an extremely important factor in combat; the ability to quickly increase your HP could be the deciding factor in an encounter. Another potion with the ability to heal is the Regeneration Potion.

Maybe or it would be cool if there were some other system e.g. you get corrupted more the more potions you drink in a short amount of time.
That would be interesting! Maybe it depends somewhat on what ingredients you used to make them: i.e. if you make it with ingredients from a void-like area then it may be powerful but damaging.
That would be a fun feature for the game
I have a feeling it's just going to be a simple healing potion. Use one, the get a cooldown of maybe 10 seconds or more until you can drink another.
Not like Skyrim where you can chug 23 healing potions in a row all at once.
